2019

Heya,

Welcome to 2019!

If’ I’m honest, the whole ‘coming of the new year’ thing snuck up on me. I was working a lot over the Christmas break and seem to have suddenly found myself in the future, so I’m putting this post together to share with you what’s been going on in my world and where I want the next 12 months to take me.

My Christmas break was great! I hung out with my family and went to Singapore with Tan. I also had a bunch of work to do (this is not a complaint – It’s the best project ever) If you’ve been keeping up with my content, you’ll know I’ve been writing a film – well, someone has decided to make it… which is HUGE!

I haven’t mentioned it anywhere publicly yet, because it can all go wrong at any time, but we’re looking to start production this year and I have some development to do on the script.

As soon as I got back from my holiday, it was London Fashion Week. It’s always a good way to kick off the year. It’s the weekend before everyone heads back to work and a lot of the fashion crowd complain about that, but I use it as a way of shaking off the cobwebs and getting back into the swing of working in London.

This was one of my outfits and it’s all about the layers. There is quite a lot going on, but when you break it down, it’s very classic – I’ve just played with colour and texture.

The topcoat is from Burberry in a green herringbone and the boots are Ralph Lauren. Everything else is monochrome with a white denim jacket form whistles, a grey shirt from Zegna and black Levi’s.

I only have two New Year’s Resolutions:

The first is to better to the environment – I made a big dent in my carbon footprint and plastic consumption in 2018 but I can always do more. I genuinely think it’s the biggest problem we face as species and I’ve thrown myself into learning how to be better. I work with WWF and went to an evening hosted by David Attenborough (my hero) where I learned that if we don’t fix things within 50 years, the Earth wont be able to bounce back and we’ll die. I don’t like the idea of that.

My second resolution is to be better to myself. I get stressed too easily, I over-think things, I get down and I worry. I find that writing screenplays really helps me focus that – I can do my all my over-thinking for a character rather than myself. But I’m going to try my very hardest not to sweat the small stuff so much and enjoy what the world has to throw at me.

2019 is going to be a good’n. Let’s all make the most of it.

Big love,

Jim
